Virtual Learning Code of Conduct

Code for Parents:

  • Parents are to ensure that their children are prepared for their lessons by 9:25am, ready to begin at 9:30am
  • Parents are to ensure that children are appropriately dressed, no pyjamas
  • In the event that more than one family member is in isolation and technology is limited, parents to contact school and inform them
  • Parents should not participate in the online learning. Any questions or concerns can be sent to teachers via class dojo outside of the live session

Code for Children:

  • Children logged on by 9:25am, ready to start at 9:30am
  • Children must be dressed, not in pyjamas
  • Children are not to eat or drink anything other than having a bottle of water during lesson time.
  • No background noise, such as music playing or the TV during sessions
  • Children to sit at a table where possible
  • Language must be appropriate, including any family members in the background
  • Staff will remove any children from the online lesson who are not following the guidance. A telephone call or email will be sent to parents in these circumstances.
  • Video and sound may be muted for both pupils and staff if other children in the household become unsettled or cause disruption
  • All sessions will be recorded for safeguarding reasons

Code for Staff

  • Staff should be logged on at 9:15am, ready for 9:30am start
  • Staff should wear professional clothing
  • Language and behaviour must be professional and appropriate
  • Staff will remove any children who are not following the guidance
  • It is important that all staff, whilst interacting with children online, continue to watch out for signs that a child is at risk. Any such concerns should be deal with as per the Child Protection Policy.
  • School will ensure that any online learning tools and systems are in line with GDPR requirements
