School Development Plan

Priority Areas for 2022/2023

Priority One: QUALITY OF EDUCATION 

1.1 Improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in maths so that the percentage of pupils achieving age related expectations and at the higher standard increases and all pupils make at least good progress from their starting points/prior attainment

1.2 Improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in writing so that the percentage of pupils achieving age related expectations and at greater depth increases and all pupils make at least good progress from their starting points/prior attainment

1.3 Ensure greater consistency in the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in phonics so that the percentage of pupils increases and all pupils make at least good progress from their attainment in Early Years

1.4 Review and improve teaching and learning in times tables so that the percentage of pupils achieving the required standard in the Year 4 multiplication tests increases and pupils in Years 1-3 make good progress in learning their times tables

Priority Two: BEHAVIOUR AND ATTITUDES 

2.1 Develop and improve the use and impact of ‘The Oasis’ and ‘The Nest’ nurture rooms so that pupils who need additional support dealing with behaviour or mental health issues are better supported and as a result make better progress in their learning/ improve their attendance

2.2 Ensure that the systems, processes and practices to support high standards of punctuality and attendance are effective and leading to improvements in attendance for pupils whose attendance falls below 96%

2.3 Ensure that the support for pupils who are in danger of becoming persistent absentees is effective and the school is successful in reducing the percentage of PA so that it is below the national average

Priority Three: PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT 

3.1 Ensure that the schools mission, vision and values and established and embedded across the school 

3.2 Ensure that there are effective processes and practices in place to ensure that staff can meet and address pupils’ personal development needs and their SMSC development

Priority Four: LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT

4.1 To develop and improve the use of assessment of learning and for learning in all subjects across the curriculum so that assessment and feedback are impacting positively on pupil learning and progress and processes are manageable for staff workload

Priority Five: EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE

5.1 Ensure that the quality of teaching, learning and assessment in the Early Years is effective in meeting pupils’ learning needs so that all pupils make at least good progress from their starting points and the percentage of pupils achieving a GLD is in line with national

5.2 Review and improve the quality of teaching and learning in the outdoor provision in EYFS so that it has greater impact on the development of pupils’ vocabulary, language and social skills
