WELCOME TO YEAR 6

Welcome to our Year 6 page. We have two classes in Year 6: 6DF- Mr Fitch and 6HG- Mrs Gibson. Both classes are supported by Miss Allcock. 

Important Days

PE days are a Monday and Wednesday. Children can wear their PE kits to school on these days. 

Homework will be handed out on a Friday and collected on a Wednesday. Homework will be sent home in books and also uploaded to google classroom. 

Spellings will be handed out on a Friday, alongside homework, and will be tested the following Friday. Spellings will again be sent home in a spelling file and uploaded to google classroom. 

Expectations 

We have extremely high expectations of all the children in Year 6 as the role models for the rest of the school. We expect all year 6 children to wear the correct uniform at all times, including their PE kit. Our school values: Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Safe are to be followed and modelled to younger children across the school. 

Children in Year 6 should read daily at home. The children can sign their own reading diaries however, we do ask that adults regularly check the diary and engage with reading. 

Times table knowledge underpins a vast majority of the Year 6 Maths curriculum and we ask that children use Times Tables Rockstars at least three times a week. Leader boards will be updated in school.
